In addition to both parties benefiting from their respective, collaboratively-trained lawyer’s legal expertise, on an as needed basis, the Collaborative Process can involve interdisciplinary professionals who form part of the collaborative team and work in a neutral manner.. Such professionals are also collaboratively-trained and include: separation/divorce coaches (e.g., registered psychologists, social workers, etc.), child specialists (registered professionals who specialize in working with children and bring forward the ‘voice of the children’ impacted by divorce or separation), and/or financial professionals (who help plan a fair and balanced distribution of your assets for the long term security of the whole family.
In addition to collaboratively-trained lawyers, as needed, other interdisciplinary professionals may form part of the collaborative team – e.g., divorce/separation coaches (who are collaboratively-trained, registered, professionals who focus on the emotional/psychological impacts of separation/divorce and help clients cope with and constructively manage such challenges), child specialists (who bring forward the ‘voice of the children’ impacted by divorce or separation) and/or financial professionals (who help plan a fair and balanced distribution of your assets for the long term security of the whole family.
